• Do dermatologists recommend aluminum-free deodorant?

Dermatologists may suggest aluminum-free options for patients who experience contact dermatitis or irritation from aluminum-based antiperspirants, or for those who simply wish to avoid aluminum as a personal preference. They also recommend it for individuals with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) who have received treatments like Botox, where blocking sweat with aluminum is no longer necessary or desired.

• Are baking soda deodorants bad for sensitive skin?

Baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) can often be an irritant for sensitive skin. The Issue: Baking soda has a high alkaline pH (usually around 8), while the skin's natural pH is slightly acidic (around 5.5). The Effect: Applying a highly alkaline product can disrupt the skin's natural acid mantle, leading to symptoms like redness, itching, burning, and a rash. Alternative: People with sensitive skin who wish to use natural deodorant are often advised to seek out baking soda-free formulas that use gentler odor-neutralizing alternatives such as Magnesium Hydroxide or Zinc Ricinoleate.

• Does your deodorant contain aluminum?

Zero aluminum. We do not plug your sweat glands shut. We kill the bacteria that cause the smell and let your body do the thing bodies are supposed to do.

• What is the difference between deodorant and antiperspirant?

Antiperspirant uses aluminum to block you from sweating. Deodorant lets you sweat like a human and handles the odor. We make deodorant. On purpose.

• I just switched from antiperspirant and now I smell worse. What gives?

That is the adjustment period, and it is completely normal. Aluminum antiperspirants plug your sweat glands shut, sometimes for years. When you quit, your body starts sweating freely again and the bacteria on your skin rebalance, so for the first week or two you might sweat more and smell stronger than you expect. People call it the armpit detox. Push through it. Give it about two weeks and your pits level out. That is your body getting back to normal, not the deodorant failing.

• Is magnesium safe in deodorant?

Magnesium oxide is the workhorse in ours. It neutralizes odor without clogging your pores or shutting your skin down the way aluminum does. Safe, simple, and it works.

• How long does one stick of deodorant last?

Depending on how heavy-handed you are, about 2 to 3 months a stick.

• Can the deodorant melt?

Yes. It is a natural balm, not a chemical brick. Leave it in a hot car and it will soften. If it does melt, stand it upright somewhere cool and it sets right back up.

• How do I keep it from marking my shirt?

One or two swipes is plenty. Let it absorb for a few seconds before you pull your shirt on. Natural balms leave a mark when you overdo it.
